John A. Anderson, DDS

Dr. John Anderson earned his dental degree from the University of Texas at Houston in June 1979.  Graduating in the top ten percent of his class, he was awarded membership in the honorary dental fraternity, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Anderson maintained a successful and respected General Dentistry practice in Huntsville, Texas for twenty years, but the time arrived to follow his deeper aspiration to specialize in Prosthodontics. Dr. Anderson chose to attend the University of Louisville School of Dentistry because of its highly respected Prosthodontic program, especially noted for Occlusion and Dental implants. Completing the advanced training and demonstrating his advanced skills, Dr. Anderson was awarded his Certificate in Prosthodontics in April 2002. Opportunities to begin a new practice abound, but Dr. Anderson was now aware of the quality of life in Louisville, Kentucky; thus, he remained in Louisville and established Preferred Prosthodontics. Dr. Anderson is an active member Christ United Methodist Church Choir, the Louisville Rotary Club, The Saving Lives Worldwide Committee. Activities within professional organizations include: The Louisville Dental Society, The American Dental Association, The Aesthetic Study Society of Louisville, The American Equilibration Society, The Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the American College of Prosthodontists. Understanding the importance of continuing education, Dr. Anderson remains true to the philosophy of dentistry’s founding father, G.V. Black who said, “A professional man has no right to be less than a lifelong student”.  Dr. “A” also knows that relaxing is important, so he stays active in photography, ornithology, and cross country bicycling.
